HISTORY OF THE BAILLIAGE LIECHTENSTEIN
The global Chaîne des Rôtisseurs community now has around 21,000 members across five continents and is the largest and oldest gourmet organisation in the world. The members of this renowned gourmet guild share a passion for the culinary arts and are committed to promoting local gastronomy.
The Liechtenstein Bailliage was founded in 1983 and has around 110 members, including the five professional members Restaurant Vivid, Fago by Meier, Restaurant Marée, Gasthof Löwen and Restaurant Edelweiss, as well as numerous partners.
RULES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAîNE
The Chaîne has set itself the aim of highlighting and promoting regional cuisine, with all its distinctive features, alongside the world-renowned French culinary art, whilst placing particular emphasis on refined table manners. The principle of ‘quality over quantity’ is the guiding principle. Not every fine establishment is a member of the Chaîne, but every member is a fine establishment.
Some rules of table etiquette
- Never mix wine and water
- Water must be served separately
- Water quenches thirst, whilst wine is savoured
- It is not advisable to leave salt and pepper on the table
- Smoking at the table is prohibited until coffee has been served
- Mobile phones do not belong on the table during meals
- No speeches may be made during meals
