Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs (OMGD)
Founded on 2 September 1963, the “Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs” is a sub-association of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, dedicated entirely to the study of wine, champagne, eaux-de-vie, other spirits and mineral water.
The OMGD therefore welcomes winemakers and other professional producers of beverages as members.
Membership
Any member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs may become a member of the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Dégustateurs. A guarantor from the OMGD is required for this.
The admission formalities are the same as those for a Chaîne member. The application form must be sent by the Bailli to the Chancellery.
The induction takes place during a Grand Chapitre. As a symbol of their membership, the new OMGD member receives the cup-shaped tasting bowl known as the ‘Tastevin’.
